SQPDS

Let's go back.. I was getting fed up with Mastodon, there wasn't really the information I wanted from Social Media available and doomscrolling for useless information is just a waste of time.
In pops BlueSky. I mean, I haven't touched Twitter since it was bought by X. (Yes, I still have accounts, but bugger logging into that horrible platform.)

I was looking into Handles and PDS (Personal Data Server) for a while and humming and haring about it on and off for a month or two.

September 11 I looked into handles.club and found out that they had passed away and it kinda, made me jump?!?

I grabbed the CSV they offered, had a look at domains and thought, I mean, let's build something.

As most of my projects it started in sqhome.uk (I shove everything before moving it to either it's new domain or a subdomain of another site.) It evolved from just a @handle.sqhome.uk.

We started with .hunts.monster, adores.monster, needs.monster.

We got the Handle working generating the .wellknown/atproto file.
Which worked, but didn't! Oh yeah, the joy of bug testing. Why does this work, but then this is not working and it was all down to do with hosting the pds-core from Bluesky.
If you don't add a Websocket upgrade... Blusky can't communicate with the PDS Server and thus it all just trips over itself and fails......

Well, things started falling into place. Now, lets see if we can find a domain! Jesus, was that a nightmare. I am envious of handles.club.. But god knows how long that took them to decide on it!

Gemini was stuck on SkyHandle... I don't know why, but, it just rubbed me the wrong way and I couldn't find anything that tweaked my fancy.

But with sqhome, SquareComp..... I mean, it's running under the SquareComp Ltd company... SQPDS was born.

We are now on the 16th of September and what has been done??

• September 11, 2026 — The Catalyst & @handle.sqhome.uk
• The wake-up call: Checked handles.club only to discover it had shut down. That news gave me the sudden push to act.
• Grabbing the data: Downloaded their domain CSV, looked at available TLDs, and thought: "Let's build something."
• The sandbox: As with most of my projects, it started inside sqhome.uk as a rough prototype (@handle.sqhome.uk).

• September 12–13, 2026 — Birth of sqpds.com & Custom 1GB Email Mailboxes
• Graduated from the sandbox to a dedicated platform at sqpds.com.
• Built the core handle registration system, Porkbun API integration, and automated DNS webhooks.
• Custom Email Suite Launched (Sep 13): Integrated mail server settings giving handle owners their own 1GB custom email mailbox (name@yourdomain.com), complete with Webmail access, IMAP/SMTP server configuration, and dashboard password management controls.

• September 14, 2026 — Handle Bio Links & Optional DIDs
• Realized handle owners needed a landing page—built SQPDS Bio Links (dark glassmorphism Linktree alternative) with live mobile previews, 2,600+ icon search, and dynamic analytics.
• Unlocked claims so users could claim custom handles purely for Bio Pages & Custom Email without needing a Bluesky DID upfront.

• September 15, 2026 — Scanner, Email Verification & Security
• Built double opt-in email verification for handle exemption requests and security policy enforcement.
• Implemented real-time WHOIS/RDAP expiry tracking, dual identity verification (Bluesky Bio proof & DNS TXT), Brand Protection subscriptions, and 1-Click SSL provisioning.

• September 16, 2026 — Going Live with blog.sqpds.com
• Added the DNS Activity scanner (checking active A, MX, CNAME, and TXT records to spot dormant vs active domains).

Now here we are. I mean, me and Gemini have build now loads of projects that have been stuck in my head.

Going off on a Tangent, I've been trying to build a stock system at work since 2020. 6 years later and a Gemini Pro subscription... We are version 7.7.0 and still building! I'm a Linux, Windows, Network Administrator and Web Developer. My Main Language has been HTML, CSS, JS, PHP and MySQL.
But after working full time since 2019. I have lost a lot of Motivation for Web Development.
PHP Evolved and changed and I just kept slipping up with redundant and changed actions...

I've been looking after Linux servers for years, I've had a Server in a Datacentre before. It gets a bit bleh paying for someone else's server and after everything is said and done, I've got nothing to show for it....

I moved into a Home with Full Fibre Internet and it was finally time to full throttle. I bought a Server! (Not my first one!) Bought Static IP's... Started building.

I have a 88 core 197GB RAM 6.4TB HDD Server.

It runs email, websites, gaming servers, voice servers, netbird, uptimekuma, changedetection, aliasvault and Whatever else I want! Satisfactory, Factorio, Minecraft.

At the end of the day, I have outgrown this server, but until the company can make an income, I'm just bleeding out with Power, Internet and Domain costs.

Through one company I have spent over £1,500 on domains alone... That's just one Registrar! I'm up to 3 now!
